Caroline represents both public and private employers with unionized and non-unionized workforces. She defends employers against claims of race and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, retaliation, breach of contract and wrongful termination in single-plaintiff and multiple-plaintiff matters.
Her practice also includes advising employers on a wide range of employment issues, including California Labor Code compliance, conducting internal audits for misclassification/exempt status issues, handling workplace investigations, managing leaves of absence and disability accommodations, managing employee discipline and terminations, and drafting employment agreements, separation agreements, and personnel policies.
She represents employers on a regular basis in administrative proceedings, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board.
Additionally, Caroline does pro bono work through the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, representing clients seeking asylum on the basis of gender and domestic violence.
While in law school, Caroline participated in the Cambodian Genocide & International Tribunal Program, in which she played a role in helping Cambodia to establish a mechanism for determining responsibility for the Khmer Rouge holocaust.
