Renju specializes in labor and employment law. He defends employers in matters involving discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage-and-hour compliance and employment-related torts. He has litigation experience in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings.

Renju counsels employers on both employment and wage-and-hour issues. He prepares employment, severance and independent contractor agreements. Renju also has experience assisting clients with restraining orders against individuals who make threats or commit acts of violence.

Renju's work also includes class action defense.  He has significant experience representing public sector clients in class actions related to the delivery of health care services to state inmates and related to the procedures governing the State's parole revocation process.

Representative Work

Plata v. Brown. Plata is a class action case against the State of California, including the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), concerning the delivery of medical care to California's adult inmate population.

Valdivia v. Brown and L.H. v. Brown. Valdivia is a class action lawsuit against the State of California, CDCR and related entities, concerning the State's parole revocation process for adult offenders. L.H. is a similar class action lawsuit relating to the parole revocation process for juvenile offenders.
