California Voters Reject Proposition 37, Now What?

On November 6, 2012, California voters rejected Proposition 37, also known as “The California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act.” Of those who voted, approximately 53% of Californians voted against the Proposition, while 47% voted to pass the GMO labeling initiative. A significant amount of money was invested by the supporters and opponents of Proposition 37, with the opposition outspending the supporters by more than a 5 to 1 margin.
