Water Law Alert: Nevada Supreme Court Remands Water Applications That Were Pending Without Action For Longer Than The One Year Statuary Period

In an important case dealing with Nevada State Engineer’s statuary obligation to act on pending water applications, the Nevada Supreme Court remanded 34 Southern Nevada Water Authority (“SNWA”) groundwater applications, that had been “pending” with the State Engineer for sixteen (16) years prior to approval.
