Lara Carney's practice covers a range of health care law, from hospital contracting and regulatory compliance to credentialing and peer review for medical staffs. In her practice, Lara has prepared professional services agreements between hospitals and medical groups, medical director agreements, on-call coverage agreements, physician recruitment agreements, and medical staff leadership agreements. She regularly advises her healthcare clients regarding compliance with the Stark and Anti Kickback laws. Additionally, Lara has become an integral part of Hanson Bridgett's medical staff practice, advising clients throughout each step in a peer review investigation, including preparing notices to practitioners, representing medical staffs at peer review hearings, and negotiating with practitioners' counsel.
Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Lara worked with a variety of health care facilities and corporations, gaining insight into many of the issues she now handles legally. Through coursework and internships related to her Masters in Public Health, she also studied the health care system from both an economic and policy perspective.
