Because of Hanson Bridgett's unique environment, sophisticated practice, and strong client base, lateral attorneys, from first year associates to senior partners, seek out opportunities at our firm. Hanson Bridgett hires lateral attorneys in many different ways. We initiate lateral attorney searches through traditional methods, including publishing and posting advertisements and informing professional recruiting firms. In addition, we invite lateral attorneys, particularly more seasoned attorneys, to consider whether Hanson Bridgett may be a good fit with their long term goals and objectives. We met many of our recent lateral additions because they had professional and personal relationships with people at Hanson Bridgett.
Lateral attorneys that have joined Hanson Bridgett have diverse backgrounds and experience, including partners and associates from all sizes of law firms, high and mid-level public attorneys, and in-house corporate counsel. These attorneys have joined our firm for a variety of reasons, including among others, to expand and grow their practices, to provide greater depth to serve clients, to practice in a growing and dynamic law firm, and to join a group of people with traditional "family values" about practicing law in a cooperative and supportive environment.
Our lateral attorneys quickly fit right into our firm. Several lateral attorneys have assumed leadership positions, for example the heads of our litigation and business sections are partners that joined us recently. And lateral attorneys serve on important administrative committees, including the management, recruiting, business development, and pro bono committees.
