Hanson Bridgett Partner Elected to Board of AIISF (July 21, 2011)
Hanson Bridgett is pleased to announce the election of John Cu, a partner in the firm’s San Francisco office, to the Board of Directors of the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation (AIISF). Founded in 1983, the AIISF is a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote a greater understanding and awareness of the Pacific Coast immigration and its impact on American history. In partnership with California State Parks and The National Park Service, the AIISF conducts presentations, seminars, teacher training workshops. The AIISF also launched the Angel Island Legacies Project, an oral history undertaking which has trained oral historians and researchers to interview detainees of Angel Island and their descendants.
Mr. Cu’s legal practice specializes in commercial litigation, environmental/toxic litigation, mass complex torts, and software licensing. He has brought more than 20 jury trials to verdict, and has served as general counsel to various emerging and start-up companies across a range of industries including software, telecommunications, mobile service, e-commerce, and retail. Additionally, Mr. Cu has served as deputy district attorney for the County of Contra Costa and is currently the Chair of the firm's Inclusion and Diversity Committee.
