Hanson Bridgett Partner Appointed State Bar's Board of Legal Specialization, Appellate Law Advisory Commission (August 1, 2011)
Hanson Bridgett is pleased to announce that Joseph Quinn, a Partner in the firm’s Litigation Section, has been appointed by the State Bar Board of Governors as the 2011-2012 chair of the State Bar's Board of Legal Specialization, Appellate Law Advisory Commission.
"It is an honor to have been selected by the Board of Governors for this esteemed appointment," said Mr. Quinn. "The Appellate Law Advisory Commission plays a critical role, both in credentialing and establishing CLE standards for the legal profession, and I look forward to working with the State Bar to help support and advance its mission."
The appointment will have Mr. Quinn administering the specialist program by, among other things, passing upon applications for certification and re-certification as a legal specialist, drafting and grading the specialist examinations, and evaluating and accrediting programs and providers of continuing legal education.
Mr. Quinn is a certified specialist in appellate law whose legal practice focuses on complex litigation, writs, and appeals. He has more than 20 published opinions and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of high-profile municipal law cases. Additionally, Mr. Quinn has been a member of the Appellate Law Advisory Commission since 2007 and currently serves as the Commission's vice chair. He will take office as the Chair at the close of the State Bar Annual Meeting on September 18, 2011.
