Hanson Bridgett Donates $100,000 to the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project (October 17, 2011)
Hanson Bridgett is thrilled to announce plans to donate $100,000 towards the America’s Cup Healthy Ocean Project, a global initiative launched today in San Francisco. The AC Healthy Ocean Project is focused on increasing public awareness of oceanic health issues and spurring widespread demand for comprehensive protection and rehabilitation programs in concert with global and local nonprofit ocean conservation organizations.
“Protecting our Ocean is no longer a luxury we can defer for another day,” said Andrew Giacomini, Managing Partner of Hanson Bridgett. “The health of our planet and the health of our communities is at stake, and only through immediate and sustained effort can this issue begin to be addressed. The AC Healthy Ocean Project represents a huge step towards tangible change and we are proud to be supporting its mission with this donation."
From public service announcements woven into America’s Cup broadcasts to visible identification on all America’s Cup boats and events, ocean conservation and environmental stewardship will be the cornerstones of the 34th America’s Cup.
“The Event Authority is very pleased to accept this generous donation by Hanson Bridgett on behalf of the AC Healthy Ocean Project partners,” said Neill Duffy, Director of Sustainability, America’s Cup Event Authority. “We want the AC Healthy Ocean Project to be a global movement that educates the world’s populations about the issues facing our oceans, and Hanson Bridgett has demonstrated itself as a partner dedicated in helping us achieve that vision.”
