Hanson Bridgett Participates in National Rebuilding Day
Hanson Bridgett LLP is proud to announce another successful year participating in National Rebuilding Day, when 28 of its staff and attorneys turned out to help long-time bay area resident, Odessa Allen, with much needed repairs to her 1940’s Bayview home.
Over the years, Mrs. Allen and her husband have raised 3 children, 10 grandchildren, and more than 20 great- and great-great-grandchildren in their home. Thirteen years ago, Mrs. Allen’s husband passed away, and full maintenance of their family home fell to her. Despite her best efforts, Mrs. Allen was unable to keep up with the repairs as she is living on a very limited income, and the house fell into a state of disrepair.
With the help of Rebuilding Together SF, Wells Fargo, and Feldman Architects, Hanson Bridgett was able to give Mrs. Allen’s home the complete makeover and renovations it needed, including painting a number of rooms inside the house, renovating the kitchen and bathroom, building a deck, and clearing out and landscaping the backyard. Fifty-one people participated in the event, resulting in a significant improvement to Mrs. Allen’s home. As Karen Nemsick, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together San Francisco, says “When groups…bring their teams and resources to Rebuilding Day, they can leverage a $5000 project budget to provide nearly $25,000 worth of repairs for low income homeowners!”
Participation in National Rebuilding Day is just part of Hanson Bridgett’s broader commitment to direct involvement in its communities, pro bono legal service, and responsible business practices. With key partnerships across the greater Bay Area including Everett Middle School, San Francisco Food Bank, Legal Aid of Marin, and Head Start, among others, Hanson Bridgett maintains an ongoing effort to give back to the communities that have helped foster its successful growth for the last 50+ years.
