Hanson Bridgett LLP Starts 2014 with New Associates

February 25, 2014 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) — Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to welcome three new litigation associates to its San Francisco office.

Jay Rapaport is a litigation associate specializing in appellate work. He has represented clients in the banking, software, and cosmetics industries in cases involving copyright, breach of contract, and consumer protection claims. Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Jay clerked for the Honorable Jerome Farris of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Jay received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 2011 and his B.A., highest distinction, from the University of Michigan in 2006.

Kyle Mabe is an associate in the firm's litigation section. Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Kyle worked as a law clerk and researched case law for both criminal and civil litigation. In addition, he drafted motions, analyzed case issues and collaborated in the development of case strategies. During law school, Kyle served as an Executive Comments Editor and a Staff Writer for the Golden Gate University Law Review.

Kyle received his J.D., Highest Honors, from the Golden Gate University School of Law in 2013 and his B.A., cum laude from Washington State University in 2010.

Janie Thompson focuses her practice on intellectual property and litigation. As part of her intellectual property practice, she assists clients in a range of trademark matters from trademark clearance through enforcement and litigation of trademark disputes. While in law school, Janie argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on behalf of a pro bono client in an immigration asylum case. She also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Arthur L. Alarcón of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Janie received her J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2013 and her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2008.
