Hanson Bridgett Welcomes Four New Associates to San Francisco Office

June 10, 2014 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) — Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to welcome four new associates to its San Francisco office.

Alan Bishop joins the firm's Real Estate and Construction Practice Group. He focuses on construction law. He has been involved in advising and representing contractors on competitive bidding for public work projects, bid protests, contract requirements, and the prosecution and defense of contract and tort claims involving added work scope, professional negligence, delay, and termination. Alan is also a licensed Civil Engineer. He worked for six years on the design, construction, and inspection of State Water Project facilities for the California Department of Water Resources.

Alan received his J.D. cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2010 and his B.S. from the University of California, Davis in 2001.

Elizabeth Masson joins the firm's Employee Benefits Practice Group. She has experience representing employee benefit plan sponsors and fiduciaries in all aspects of compliance with the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Internal Revenue Code, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and various federal and state labor and employment laws.

Previously, Liz served as a law clerk for the National Labor Relations Board's Division of Judges, and as a legal extern with Region 20 of the National Labor Relations Board.

Liz received her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2005 and her B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1986.

Matthew Peck is a litigation associate who focuses his practice on complex civil litigation in federal and state courts. Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Matthew served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Thomas E. Carlson in Federal Bankruptcy Court. Additionally, Matthew worked for a boutique investment banking firm and as an intern in the tax controversy services department of a major accounting firm during law school.

Matthew received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2012 and his B.A., cum laude, from Gonzaga University in 2009.

Rachel Zuraw is a member of our Healthcare Litigation Practice Group. She has experience in a wide range of areas, including complex class actions, antitrust, and regulatory anticipation and compliance. Prior to becoming a practicing attorney, Rachel was a lecturer on law and medicine at the University of Pennsylvania and an adjunct professor of law and bioethics at the Drexel University Earle Mack School of Law.

Rachel received her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2009, her MBE from the University of Pennsylvania Medical School Center for Bioethics in 2009 and her A.B. from Princeton University in 2006.
