Hanson Bridgett LLP Elevates 3 to Partner, 7 to Senior Counsel (December 4, 2010) 

Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to announce the election of three attorneys to its partnership ranks along with seven attorneys who have been named senior counsel. 

Effective January 1, 2011, Lisa Dal Gallo, David Gehrig, and Kevin Reese will become partners; Adam Hofmann, Anne Hydorn, Leslie Keil, Eli Makus, Erin McDonough, Steven Miller, and Wendy Tauriainen will be elevated to senior counsel. All of the attorneys are based in San Francisco except for attorneys Makus, McDonough and Tauriainen, who work out of the Sacramento office. 

“As in past years, this year's class of promotions features lawyers who began their career at Hanson Bridgett as well as those who have found their way to us after working in other firms,” stated Andrew G. Hanson Bridgett's new partners and senior counsel represent a range of practice areas and have a breadth of legal experience in areas including public agency law, labor and employment law, and commercial litigation. 

About Hanson Bridgett's New Partners  

Lisa Dal Gallo has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked professionally for one of the largest general contractors in the world. She received a J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law in 1996, and a B.S. in Construction Management from California State University, Chico in 1986. 

David S. Gehrig is the Infrastructure Group co-chair, and regularly assists public agency clients with the full range of legal issues related to public works construction projects. He has worked on numerous large-scale infrastructure projects throughout California. He received his J.D., Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1995, and his B.A., with distinction, from the University of Washington in 1991. 

Kevin D. Reese is a commercial litigator and an employment law attorney. He has experience defending large employers in cases involving wage and hour claims as well as handling complex commercial litigation spanning a range of business disputes. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in 1994, and his B.S. from San Jose State University in 1989. 

About Hanson Bridgett's New Senior Counsel 

Adam W. Hofmann represents both public and private clients in complex, multi-party litigation, administrative proceedings, arbitration, and mediation. His experience includes representing public agencies including cities, counties, and transit districts in land use, eminent domain, code enforcement, and civil rights cases. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2005, and his B.A. from Canisius College, Buffalo, New York in 2000. 

Anne C. Hydorn represents public and private employers in compensation and benefits matters. Her practice includes advising clients on the laws governing retirement and welfare benefits and executive compensation, including ERISA, tax, labor, and securities laws. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2003, and her B.A., dean's list, from the University of California, Davis in 1991. 

Leslie A. Keil's practice focuses on corporate law and business transactions, including corporate formation, private equity and debt financing, contracts, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property licenses. She received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2004, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Seattle University in 2001. 

Eli R. Makus specializes in labor and employment litigation and advice. He defends public sector and private employers against wrongful termination, employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims, as well as issues relating to family and medical leave laws. He received a J.D. from the University of California, Davis, King Hall School of Law in 2004, and a B.A. from California State University, Hayward in 1999. 

Erin K. McDonough’s practice focuses on providing construction related services to private and public clients including owners, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. Erin counsels clients and litigates disputes in all areas of construction law including bid protests, private and public contracts, mechanics' liens and stop notices. She received her J.D., Scholar List, from the Lewis and Clark Law School in 2003, and her B.A. from Rice University in 1998. 

Steven D. Miller specializes in municipal law and assists local government agencies, in particular transit districts, in a wide variety of legal issues. Steven also has a Constitutional law focus and has been closely involved in recent efforts to address structural Constitutional reform at the State level. He is a Grammy-award winning violinist and has issued more than 20 CDs and appeared on both PBS and NPR. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2004, his Artists' Diploma from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in 1992, and his B.M. from Indiana University School of Music in 1986. 

Wendy L. Tauriainen’s practice includes advising employers on benefits and compensation issues, including ERISA compliance, fiduciary responsibility, financing, tax, regulatory issues and organizational integrity. She received an LL.M. in Taxation, with honors, from the University of Alabama in 2010, a J.D., from the University of California, Davis School of Law (King Hall) in 2005, and a B.S., from Oregon State University in 1997.
