Hanson Bridgett LLP Elevates 5 to Partner, 3 to Senior Counsel (December 17, 2009) 

Hanson Bridgett is pleased to announce the election of five attorneys to its partnership ranks along with three attorneys who have been named senior counsel. 

Neil Bardack, John Cu, Anne Johnson, Eric Junginger and Jordan Lavinsky will become partners on January 1, 2010. Molly Lee, Emma Sobol and Mohammad Walizadeh will be elevated to senior counsel on the same day. 

"As in the past, this year's class of promotions features lawyers who began their career at our firm as well as those who have found their way to us after working in other firms," stated Andrew Giacomini, the firm's Managing Partner. "They are terrific lawyers and important contributors to the firm and our clients." 

Hanson Bridgett's new partners include litigators with broad experience in a range of fields including commercial disputes, insurance coverage, intellectual property, product liability, real estate, securities, and wills and trusts. They also have expertise in all forms of alternate dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration. The firm's new senior counsel are skilled in labor and employment law and commercial litigation as well as in trusts and estates. 

About Hanson Bridgett's New Partners 

Neil R. Bardack is a litigation and trial attorney. He is a skilled arbitrator, with over 25 years on the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel. Neil joined the firm in 2008 from McQuaid, Bedford & Van Zandt LLP. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1970, and his B.A., cum laude, from the University of Southern California in 1967. 

John T. Cu is a litigator and trial lawyer whose practice focuses in the areas of business litigation, commercial transactions, intellectual property and product liability. Mr. Cu has extensive experience representing a broad spectrum of clients, from Fortune 500 corporations to emerging companies in a variety of industries, including technology, banking, financial markets, automotive, healthcare and government. He received his J.D. with Honors, from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1999, and his B.A. in Economics from the University of British Columbia in 1994. 

S. Anne Johnson litigates a wide range of civil matters and represents private individuals, businesses and not-for-profit corporations in a variety of trust and estate and real estate and other commercial disputes. She is experienced in all stages of litigation including mediation, arbitration, trial, writ and appeal, in both state and federal court. She received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 1998, and B.A., cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Vassar College in 1992. 

Eric W. Junginger's practice involves products liability, complex civil litigation, toxic tort cases, premises liability, contract disputes and regulatory affairs. He is experienced in all aspects of litigation, appeal and alternative dispute resolution. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2000, and his B.A., summa cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University in 1997. 

Jordan A. Lavinsky specializes in commercial real estate litigation. Jordan represents shopping centers, real estate owners, managers, and developers and other commercial creditors. He has experience in trial and appellate litigation in state and federal courts in the areas of real estate, land use, construction, bankruptcy and other commercial disputes. He received his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1997, and his B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in 1994. 

About Hanson Bridgett's New Senior Counsel 

Molly A. Lee represents both public and private employers throughout all phases of litigation in federal, state and administrative proceedings. Molly defends employers against allegations of harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, retaliation, wage & hour noncompliance and all employment-related torts. She also provides preventative advice and training to clients in employment and traditional labor relations matters. She received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 2004, and her B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston University in 1999. 

Emma Q. Sobol specializes in estate planning and administration. Emma's practice focuses on sophisticated estate planning for individuals and families. Emma offers expertise in drafting a wide variety of estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, irrevocable dynasty trusts, gift trusts, life insurance trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, qualified personal residence trusts and wills. She also assists clients with probate and trust administration and planned charitable giving. She received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2001, her M.A. from Tufts University in 1996, and her B.A., with Distinction in History, from Yale University in 1995. 

Mohammad Walizadeh focuses on commercial litigation, with an emphasis on real estate and probate matters. Mohammad has litigated a variety of disputes in state and federal courts, as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings. He has handled a diverse range of litigation, including lease and contract actions, probate and trust cases, complex antitrust matters and health care litigation. Mohammad received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall) in 2004, and his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000.
