Hanson Bridgett Welcomes Four New Attorneys (April 9, 2008)

San Francisco (April 9, 2008) — Hanson Bridgett LLP announced today that Melissa Borrelli, Emily Charley, E. Jesse Kenney and Samantha Tama have joined the firm. 

"This year has started off well for us with the addition of these four attorneys, who each bring with them special talents that will help us serve our clients and meet their increasing legal needs," Managing Partner Andrew Giacomini said. 

Melissa Borrelli is an associate in the firm's Estate Planning & Administration practice group working out of its Sacramento office. While receiving her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law (2005), Borrelli was named Outstanding Woman Law Graduate of UC Davis by the National Association of Women Lawyers. Borrelli earned her B.S. in Environmental Policy Analysis & Planning at the University of California, Davis (2001). 

Emily Charley is an associate in the firm's Litigation Department in its San Francisco office, representing businesses and public agencies in a variety of litigation matters. Before joining Hanson Bridgett, Charley was an associate at Levin Simes Kaiser & Gornick, LLP in San Francisco, CA. She accepted two CALI Awards while earning her J.D. from the University of San Francisco, School of Law (2005), and she received her B.A. in Biology, Mills College (2002). 

Associate Elaine (Jesse) Kenney joined the firm's San Francisco office as a member of the Litigation Department and Health Care Practice Group. Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Ms. Kenney also served as an associate at Levin Simes Kaiser & Gornick, LLP in San Francisco, CA. Ms. Kenney received her J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law (2004). While attending USF she published For the Sake of Your Health: ERISA's Preemption Provisions, HMO Accountability and Consumer Access to State Law Remedies, 38 U.S.F. L. Rev. 361 (2004) and earned the CALI and the Witkin Awards for Excellence in Healthcare Law. Ms. Kenney additionally earned her M.S. in Mental Health Nursing from Boston University, and her B.S., cum laude, in Nursing at Boston College. In addition to her legal experience, Ms. Kenney was an advanced-practice nurse for the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. 

Based in San Francisco, Samantha Tama is an associate in the firm's Labor and Employment Practice Group and Litigation Department. She was previously a Deputy Attorney General in the Correctional Law Section for the California Attorney General's Office. She received her J.D. from the University of California Hastings College of the Law (2005) where she was twice awarded the Hastings Certificate for Excellence. Prior to that she attended the University of California at Los Angeles where she received her B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Public Policy (2002).
