Portfolio Success for the Global Citizen:
Sustainability: "Meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs." [Bruntland 1987]
As awareness of environmental, social, and governance factors increases, investors increasingly want portfolios that don't conflict with their values. This session will discuss how money and values can be combined, and explore the interplay between companies and investors when the theme is sustainability. What are companies doing to be sustainable? What do investors want companies to be doing? How can investors evaluate the sustainability of companies? How much of an impact does sustainability investing have on companies? Join Richard Stone, CEO of Private Ocean, as he leads a panel discussion to answer these questions and offer guidance to investors interested in investing more deliberately.

Presidio Graduate School’s Innovative Expert-in-Residence Program Welcomes Duke Stump
The Sustainability Experts-in-Residence Program (EIR) is the latest addition to Presidio's robust network. The Program provides another opportunity for thought leaders and experts to work collaboratively with the Presidio network to stimulate and implement innovative ideas in sustainability. Presidio is a leader in both teaching and developing cutting-edge sustainability theories and concepts with a focus on advancing practical, applied solutions. In this spirit, the Experts-in-Residence Program seeks to expand innovative sustainability thought, delivering an impact for both the School and the larger community.
It is fitting that Duke Stump, a business innovator with a passion for sustainability, joins Presidio as the first Expert-in-Residence. Duke is currently Principal and Chief Architect of The Northstar Manifesto, a dynamic leadership studio focused on cultivating and nurturing positive systemic change-makers who want to transform the world. Prior to creating The Northstar Manifesto, Duke was Chief Marketing Officer for Seventh Generation, and held a variety of senior executive leadership roles at Nike in brand (VP NIKE Brand), product (VP Product Marketing) and sales (Key Accounts).
The Expert-in-Residence Program is just one more way in which Presidio is innovating graduate education. Learn more about Presidio’s programs in Sustainable Management at an Information Session Tuesday, February 9th, hosted at the David Brower Center in Berkeley - one of the Bay Area's greenest buildings, and a home for environmental and social action. The evening is focused on giving prospective students a better understanding of Presidio and its programs in Sustainable Management, including an MBA, MPA and Executive Education.
