Intro
Wiemond is an associate in our Real Estate and Environment section, with an emphasis on real estate litigation, land use disputes, environmental litigation, and trust and estate litigation. Real estate owners, commercial landlords and tenants, developers and managers, and shopping centers often rely on Wiemond's knowledge in litigating unlawful and forcible detainers to regain possession of property, enforcement of leases and contracts, rent disputes, abatement of trespasses and nuisances, resolution of boundary and easement disputes, partition actions, and eminent domain and inverse condemnation matters. His practice is intertwined with land use disputes and environmental litigation matters.
Relying on his vast experience in real estate disputes, Wiemond aptly represents trustees and beneficiaries in disputes over the management and division of land and personal property as a member of the Family Wealth Resolution & Disputes group.
Wiemond’s experience spans all phases of litigation and dispute resolution across California state and federal courts, including the California Court of Appeal. He is well versed in pleading challenges, discovery disputes, dispositive motions, writs of mandate, and appeals.
Wiemond is a member of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee, and is conversationally fluent in Cantonese Chinese.

Admissions and Courts
Shopping centers. Represent various shopping centers across California in unlawful detainers and breach of lease disputes to recover non-payment of rent.
Unconstitutional exaction. Successfully obtained injunctive, writ, and declaratory relief for client on petition for writ of mandate challenging City's unconstitutional exaction, with appeal currently pending in California Court of Appeal.
Recreational ranch. Lead litigation attorney for a fully developed Northern California recreational ranch in lawsuits against landowners regarding unpaid assessments and title issues.
Landowners. Represented landowners in a lawsuit against a local public agency for inverse condemnation and real property claims. Case settled favorably for client at mediation.
Commercial landlords and tenants. Advise commercial landlords and tenants on lease disputes during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Public agency. Assisted in appeals regarding inverse condemnation on behalf of a local public agency.
