Hanson Bridgett Elevates Four Attorneys to Partner, Two to Senior Counsel

January 4, 2016 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) – Hanson Bridgett is pleased to announce the election of four attorneys to its partnership ranks, along with the promotion of two attorneys to senior counsel. Effective January 1, 2016, Alexandra Atencio, Christopher Karachale, Nathan Metcalf and Brad Rogerson were elevated to partners; Liz Masson and Natalie Wilson will become senior counsel.

A member of the firm’s pro bono committee, Alexandra Atencio litigates in areas including code enforcement, torts, civil rights defense, public contracting, employment, land use and disability access. She advises and defends clients on issues under the First, Fourth, and 14th Amendments, Title VI, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Alex also provides risk management advice to public sector clients, including government claims procedures and defenses.

Christopher Karachale guides business entities and individuals through various tax planning, tax controversy, employee benefits and executive compensation matters. He holds a LL.M. from New York University School of Law and is certified as a legal specialist in taxation law by the California Board of Legal Specialization.

Nathan Metcalf advises clients on water rights issues in defending and protesting water rights applications and transfers, including related issues under the California Environmental Quality Act, the California Fish and Game Code and the Endangered Species Act. He has assisted public agency clients in implementation of the State’s emergency water conservation regulations, and defended industrial and municipal clients in citizen suit actions involving stormwater discharges under the Clean Water Act.

Brad Rogerson represents clients in a wide range of real estate finance and business transactions, including debt and equity financing, complex workouts, mortgage lending and investment, public and private securities offerings and real estate purchase and sale transactions. Brad joined Hanson Bridgett as a lateral from Stein & Lubin LLP.

Liz Masson represents employee benefit plan sponsors and fiduciaries in all aspects of compliance with the Internal Revenue Code, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, and various federal and state labor and employment laws.

Natalie Wilson advises clients on a range of transactional matters, including venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, public company reporting and venture capital fund formation.
