May 29, 2019 (SAN FRANCISCO, CA)  Hanson Bridgett is pleased to have once again been recognized by Law360 as one of the best law firms for female attorneys in the United States. In the rankings, released as part of the publication’s 2019 Glass Ceiling Report, the firm took the number two spot among firms of comparable size. Hanson Bridgett also claimed the number three spot in Law360's Glass Ceiling report, ranking law firms based on the number of female partners.

Law360 analyzed data from more than 300 law firms, and Hanson Bridgett ranks well above average for the number of women attorneys represented at every level. For instance, the firm is comprised of 44% female attorneys overall compared to the 36.3% average reported by Law360, and 38.2% of its equity partners are women compared to an average of 21.5%.

"We're proud that Law360 has repeatedly identified Hanson Bridgett as a top firm for women," said Megan Oliver Thompson, chair of the Hanson Bridgett Women's Impact Network (HBWIN) and head of the firm's class action defense practice. "Through continual concrete action, we strive not only to increase the presence of women attorneys at the firm but to greatly enhance the quality of their careers. We're pleased with what we've achieved to date – and we're confident that we can do even better."

Six of the seven attorneys in this year's partnership class are women, and women currently lead four of the firm's seven section groups.

The firm is strongly committed to supporting diversity in all forms. In 2010 it established HBWIN, which brings together all women attorneys in the firm – including summer associates – for regular meetings and events, and provides support through opportunities for leadership training, mentoring, and client development as they advance through their careers. In the past two years, Hanson Bridgett has implemented an innovative policy for achieving greater diversity in its leadership ranks and rolled out a "dynamic workforce initiative" that not only enables but encourages attorneys and staff to work remotely.

The Law360 rankings were determined by identifying the firms that had above-average female representation among attorneys at every level, and then computing the percentage of female partners and non-partners relative to the overall head count of the firms.
