Intro
Mark Griffin is a commercial litigation attorney in the firm’s San Francisco office who represents businesses, executives, and business professionals in complex business disputes throughout California. His practice focuses on business torts, breach of contract claims, trade secret disputes, products liability matters, and third party subpoena disputes. Mark represents clients in state and federal court and handles matters through all phases of commercial litigation, including pre litigation strategy, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial.
Mark also represents business professionals in civil harassment restraining order proceedings, particularly where those matters arise from underlying business disputes, partnership conflicts, or employment related issues. He understands the reputational and operational impact these proceedings can have and approaches them with discretion and strategic focus.
In addition to active litigation, Mark advises public entities and private companies in internal investigations, risk assessment, and pre-suit negotiations. He works with clients to evaluate exposure early and develop litigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
Prior to practicing law, Mark served as a Senior Consultant at an international consulting firm, where he led eDiscovery teams and advised clients across all stages of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model. He continues to integrate technology and data driven strategies into his commercial litigation practice to improve efficiency, manage discovery costs, and reduce litigation risk.
Mark serves as the 2025 to 2026 Chair of the California Lawyers Association Law Practice Management and Technology Section Executive Committee. He earned his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he received the Edward J. McFetridge Award for Excellence in Advocacy and served as an extern to the Honorable Thelton E. Henderson of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
