Stefan Chacon advises and represents a variety of healthcare clients in matters involving litigation, False Claims Act, fraud and abuse, compliance, risk management, government investigations, licensure, and medical staff issues. His clients include Federally Qualified Health Centers, hospitals, medical staffs, nursing homes and many other provider-side entities and individuals.
In addition to his strong health care practice, Stefan maintains an active commercial litigation practice. He is adept in guiding clients through disputes ranging in size that involve contracts, business torts, government investigations, employment, and corporate governance. Stefan has experience at all levels of the litigation process, including civil and administrative trials and appeals.
Prior to practicing law, Stefan served in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, where he worked in small business development and microfinance. This experience plays into his legal career as he is detail-oriented, resourceful, efficient, and constructs creative strategies for his clients.
Stefan is affiliated with several professional organizations and regularly presents his expertise at webinars and conferences. He is also fluent in Spanish, and licensed to practice in California and New Mexico.
