Christopher Jensen Rejoins Hanson Bridgett's Real Estate & Environment Section as Partner
SAN FRANCISCO (March 3, 2025) – Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to announce that Christopher Jensen will rejoin the firm as partner within the Real Estate and Environment Section starting on March 3.
With two decades of accomplished legal experience – including his time focused on environmental and land use litigation and counseling as partner at Hanson Bridgett – Jensen has advised both public and private sector clients regarding a wide range of state and federal environmental laws and regulations. Most recently, he served as the City Attorney for the City of Cupertino, providing chief legal counsel to the City Council, the City’s commissions and committees, City Manager, and staff.
“On behalf of the partnership and everyone at Hanson Bridgett, I’m thrilled to welcome Chris Jensen back to our firm,” said Real Estate and Environment Section Leader Jordan Lavinsky. “Chris’s remarkable expertise in environmental and land use law, combined with his technical expertise and scientific background, make him an invaluable asset to our clients and our team.”
During his prior tenure at Hanson Bridgett, Jensen represented clients in complex environmental litigation, including cases involving the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Clean Air Act, and Clean Water Act. His knowledge of state and federal regulations and his hands-on approach to problem-solving helped many clients navigate complex legal landscapes and achieve successful outcomes.
In addition to his legal acumen, Jensen is known for his thought leadership. He has authored numerous publications and has spoken at national conferences on environmental law, sustainable city planning, and municipal governance. His background in atmospheric chemistry further complements his legal expertise, allowing him to address nuanced issues in climate change and sustainability law.
Jensen holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he was a Notes Editor for the Stanford Law Review, and a Master of Science in Atmospheric Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is admitted to practice before multiple U.S. District Courts, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Jensen’s return reflects Hanson Bridgett’s continued dedication to fostering talent and delivering top-tier legal counsel across California and beyond.
