Hanson Bridgett Partner Payam Saljoughian Elected President of National Iranian American Bar Association

January 21, 2026 (San Francisco, CA) - Hanson Bridgett is pleased to announce that partner Payam Saljoughian has been elected President of the Iranian American Bar Association (IABA), a national nonprofit legal organization dedicated to advancing the professional interests and civic engagement of Iranian American attorneys, judges, and law students across the United States.

Following his election to the IABA National Board through a nationwide vote of IABA’s membership, Payam was subsequently elected President by the organization’s National Board of Directors. He most recently served as Co-Vice President of IABA during the prior term. Before joining the national leadership, Payam served as President of IABA’s Northern California chapter, where he led significant growth in programming, membership, and community engagement throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.

“I am deeply honored to serve as President of IABA and grateful for the trust placed in me by our national membership and Board,” said Payam.

Founded in 2000, IABA is a national bar association that promotes the advancement of Iranian American legal professionals, supports mentorship and leadership development, and serves as a voice on issues affecting the Iranian American community, including civil rights, immigration, and the rule of law. Through its chapters, national programming, education initiatives, and public advocacy, IABA works to support and empower the Iranian American community and other minority communities.

As President, Payam plans to focus on expanding IABA’s national impact, strengthening its organizational infrastructure, broadening its membership reach, and increasing its visibility and influence nationwide. “There is a great deal of work ahead,” he said. “I look forward to working closely with our dedicated board members to guide IABA into its next chapter of growth and impact.”
