PAGA Amendments: What to Expect and What Not to Expect

The California Legislature has just passed two bills amending the Private Attorneys’ General Act (“PAGA”). By the time you read this notice, the Governor will likely have signed both bills into law. The legislation is being touted as a win for employers as it purports to limit frivolous claims, reduce penalties for Labor Code violations, and tighten the rules on who can bring PAGA claims and who can be represented as “aggrieved employees.”
