Hanson Bridgett's Jennifer Martinez Appointed to California Minority Counsel Program Board of Directors
February 16, 2023 (San Francisco, CA) - Hanson Bridgett LLP is pleased to announce that Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer (CDEIO) Jennifer Martinez has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the California Minority Counsel Program (CMCP).
"I'm honored to join the Board of such an essential organization," said CDEIO Jennifer Martinez. "I've been involved with CMCP for many years and it's gratifying to now be able to actively participate on the Board and to support the many contributions that CMCP makes to the legal profession." Martinez further noted, "For attorneys of color in private practice, working at a law firm can often feel like culture shock, even at a firm that gets it right like Hanson Bridgett. Throughout my career, CMCP has truly been the safe space where we can show up as our authentic selves, build community, and advance our careers. I'm so glad for the opportunity to give back by joining the Board."
Prior to becoming Hanson Bridgett's CDEIO in 2021, Martinez was a full-time partner in the firm's Labor & Employment Section. As CDEIO, she provides strategic, programmatic, and operational leadership for initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion as core values of the firm. Martinez works with firm management, practice group leadership, and firm committees to advance such initiatives and leverage best practices and resources across the firm to promote cultural competency and an environment of equity and inclusion.
In September 2022, CMCP awarded Hanson Bridgett with the Drucilla Stender Ramey Majority-Owned Law Firm Award, which recognizes "outstanding contribution to diversity in the legal profession." Hanson Bridgett previously received the award in 2003.
