Born in Sonoma County and raised in the Sierra Nevada Gold Country, Jasun brings his love for California and experience with family-owned business to his practice representing multi-generational California family-owned businesses in regulated industries and otherwise. Jasun has built his legal practice through representation of a wide array of business entities, including waste management companies, contractors, bars/nightclubs/restaurants, landowners, developers, investors, manufacturers, distributors, retailers, cultivators and private individuals in litigation, as general counsel, and during land use and business transactions. Since 2008, Jasun has had the pleasure of developing extensive experience representing cannabis businesses, cannabis related businesses and cannabis investors, of all sizes and sorts, providing general counsel on business, regulatory and operational matters.

Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Jasun first worked for the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office (Writs & Appeals) where he was tasked as editor of the City’s amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the seminal medical marijuana patients’/states’ rights case, United States v. Oakland Cannabis Buyers’ Cooperative (2001) 532 U.S. 483. Jasun also previously clerked for the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of CA, Robert S. Mueller III, in 2000.

Jasun earned a B.S. in Economics from St. Mary’s College of California, where he was a student athlete as part of the Gaels’ NCAA Intercollegiate football team. During law school, Jasun served internships with the Amador County District Attorney’s Office; San Francisco District Attorney’s Office – Felony Gang Violence Unit; and Queen’s County (NY) District Attorney’s Office – Homicide Investigations.

Today, Jasun remains active in his community where he has lived and worked for over 20 years by participating in community clean up days, youth sports organizations and other volunteer efforts including service for the City of Walnut Creek on the Contra Costa County Library Commission.
