Johanna is a health care attorney advising clients in matters involving enforcement actions against skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), residential care facilities for the elderly (RCFEs), certified nursing assistants, licensed vocational nurses, nursing home administrators, certified hemodialysis technicians, and home health aides. She has experience with defending skilled nursing facilities in citation litigation. She is also well versed in advising clients of licensing requirements and procedures for clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health agencies, hospice facilities, hospitals, adult residential facilities, and adult day programs. More recently, she has assisted several clients to file nonprofit health facility transaction notices with the California Attorney General's Office.
As an attorney for the California Department of Public Health during the coronavirus pandemic, she coordinated responses to more than 100 Public Records Act requests, counseled the Governor’s Vaccine Taskforce on conflicts of interest related to vaccine approval and distribution, and managed discovery for litigation challenging COVID-19 restrictions.
