Matthew is a corporate associate in the San Francisco office of Hanson Bridgett. He focuses his primary practice on mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and governance matters, venture capital financings and complex commercial contracts. He also has experience with the formation and operation of venture capital and other private equity funds and their general partner and management company entities.

In addition to his corporate law practice, Matthew leverages his regulatory experience to advise clients in the transportation and logistics industry. He counsels and defends clients in regulatory enforcement actions, and he has experience drafting transportation contracts.

Prior to joining Hanson Bridgett, Matthew worked as a summer associate and senior law clerk in the Corporate and Securities practice group of an international law firm in their San Francisco office.

Before practicing law, Matthew spent ten years working in a variety of business and regulatory roles with Pacific Gas and Electric Company, California’s largest investor-owned utility and a Fortune 200 company.

Matthew is proud to maintain a robust pro bono practice where he advises non-profits throughout the Bay Area on general corporate matters and has drafted prevailing motions in asylum cases.
